I forgot how much I love this hike! We haven't done it in years and the kids were smaller but it seemed harder even though the kids could walk by themselves and we didn't have to take turns carrying them. I blame it on the heat and the fact that I had just taught a killer power pump class. Maybe I'm just getting older. The hike to Timpanogos Caves is about an hour up the whole way but it is just beautiful.
We stop to pose inside this tunnel- shade!
I love climbing and I take after my mom .Now our Ella is the monkey. She led us up here and Aidan and I followed.
We made it. The kids don't remember it so I'm excited for them to see it. We actually had a superb guide who was an expert and taught the kids well. Aidan decided he wants to do his Great Brain report on it.
See? Beautiful - American Fork Canyon
Inside there were so many amazing formations: calcitrites,
This is called the heart of the cave and is the largest formation in the cave. These formations are amazing when you learn that they are formed by tiny drops of water calcifying.
Here's a look at the trail from above. I recommend this hike for you and your family. You will love it on the way and inside and on the way down. It's a great work out!
