Beautiful Girl/Beautiful Boy

It's way too late. I have kids home for Thanksgiving break tomorrow (or today, technically), I have to work all day and teach a boot camp class but I am dying to get some photos on here that I love.  I am thankful for my children.

Aidan and me - my sweet baby cakes as I like to call him.

My little girl is growing up. It is bittersweet. I don't realize how old she is until I see pictures of us like this and it makes me feel a little sad for some reason.
Ella Enchanted!
Okay, I'm going to bed.

Elder Nelson Goes to the MTC and Happy Halloween!!

My Elder Shelton with Bernard when he got his call in Belize in September. He is a proud "father."

There is a long story behind getting to see Bernard when he arrived in Salt Lake City. The original plan was thar Nicholas' former companion - Elder Reed (now Josh) was going to pick him up with his parents Monday night then bring him to our house for a big breakfast with our family. It turns out he was delayed due to "Sandy" in Atlanta and came in Tuesday afternoon - so no breakfast. Of course, all my preparations did not go to waste as we ended up eating it for dinner that night as a family. What's better than breakfast for dinner? A yummy breakfast casserole, yogurt with blueberries and home made granola, pineapple, strawberries and Fuji apples, and banana bread.

Well, we ended up meeting Bernard at the MTC with Josh and his family. I was elated to meet this young man that Nicholas helped encourage to go on a mission. His story is incredible as he is the only member in is family. He comes from a tiny branch that Nicholas was Branch President in with originally 20 members but got up to about 38 when Nicholas left there in Dangriga. He is going to the Domincan Republic and was beaming from head to toe! He will be at the Provo MTC for three weeks then transfer down to the Dominican Republic MTC for the remainder five. His story is truly inspiring.

Now for Halloween!  It is truly one of my favorite holidays. I go all out with decorations, baking Halloween treats, caramel apples, etc.

When Nicholas was seven, we decided to have him be Shaggy from Scooby Doo. I drew Scooby and the rest was a piece of cake. With Aidan being seven and to honor Nicholas on his mission, Aidan, too, wanted to be Shaggy. I think he's pretty cute if I do say so myself.

School Parade before it starts - my sweethearts!

Photo look familiar - I was a witch again but my babes are getting older (sniff, sniff)...
I love Halloween and I love, love being a mother.

You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and appreciate the kind way you always handle things.

Playing Opposites

I have been discussing opposites with the kids lately. Today (Oct. 1 ) we were doing an opposites puzzle and Aidan was doing amazingly well (turned 3, 3 months ago). There was a picture of fire with the word "hot." Here's the conversation: Me - What's the opposite of hot? Aidan - warm. Me - Well, not quite. Okay, fire is hot. What is ice? Aidan - slippery! LOL :)

Aidan - "See, I can do opposites with my toes!" ??
